We camped in the backyard of a family from the village of Tapay. Their two children were very excited by all our equipment.
Breakfast on day 2
One side of the canyon has been terraced and supports vegetation. The other is steep and barren. We descended and climbed the steep side.

Part-way up the climb on day 3. We could see a terraced field dating to pre-Inca times that we hiked past the day before.
