Caravale 2010

The hip Georgetown Ballroom was the setting for a fresh, eclectic, world traveling evening of culture in Seattle, this year featured Agentina! Upon arrival, guests sampled some great seasonal tapas and a signature cocktail; The Caravale! Dinner featured an Argentine asado and some spectacular limited production Argentine wines. Matthew Dillon, the award-winning chef behind the inspired food at Sitka & Spruce and The Corson Building was our El Asador! (el ah-sah-dor’ – The Grill Master) After dinner there were dance beats, and live tango music performed by Tangabrazo – and tango lessons! You didn't need to dance tango to enjoy this event! This was the first of a new annual event, mark your calendar, we're tentatively set for October 28, 2010!

High Point rally at 35th and Juneau

Members of the High Point community and other West Seattle neighbors gathered for a "Traffic Slow Down" rally at the intersection of 35th and Juneau in West Seattle, where in April a motorcyclist was killed in an accident. Neighborhood House employees organized the rally.

United Way Day of Caring

Volunteers from Microsoft turned out in droves Sept. 24 to support Neighborhood House for the United Way Day of Caring. Volunteer groups lent a hand at our locations in Yesler Terrace, NewHolly, High Point, Rainier Vista and the Wiley Center. At Yesler Terrace, a Microsoft design team created a colorful mural to decorate our Head Start play area.
