*** BLACK ONE HAS BEEN SOLD *** What these are: Recent Mexican bodies and necks. Necks stripped, sanded, and refinished with amber tint and actual nitro-cellulose lacquer. "Correct" late-50's decal applied and "correctly" coated. Vintage-style (repro) tuners and knobs -- "aged" -- installed. Fender vintage-style ashtray bridge -- also "aged" -- installed. Stock bridge pickup replaced with a Lindy Fralin (original Mexican neck pickup remains.) Mint green repro pickguard installed. All other hardware "aged". Bodies lightly "distressed" (the black one more so than the green one). All aged parts cleaned and lubed so that they operate smoothly and correctly. Guitars set up/intonated etc. Honestly, I thought it would be a fun "spare time" project. I can now say parts of it were fun, but I will never do this again!! Allen Electric Harpsichord SOLD

UPDATE: this has been SOLD. Very rare 1960's electric harpsichord by Allen Organ Company. Works and sounds amazing; no operational issues. Cosmetically it's quite nice too; there are a few minor scratches on the wood (walnut or maple, as far as I can tell) cabinet, but overall it's in "nice furniture" condition. There's not much info available on these instruments; I'm told the circuitry is similar to an RMI Electrapiano, but in stereo (four speakers underneath, and two on inside of the top cabinet) and with much more comprehensive tonal controls. The only modification I'm aware of is a pair of 1/4" line outs installed in the bottom; they sound amazing for direct recording. This is located in the Boston area and would need to be picked up. The legs unscrew and, from experience, I know that the whole unit will fit in a Subaru Legacy Sport with no problem. Asking $1000 or best reasonable offer.
