Easter festivities
Instead of palms, they use, um, these things on Palm Sunday...
...because, you know, palm trees are a little hard to come by in Poland.
Our adventure started with attempting to buy bus tickets.
We were successful! But the bus took a while...
So I took some pictures of the square, where the bus stop was--This is a flower store.
And a stall at the tiny open air market.
...still waiting...
bus stop feet.
I absolutely adore this picture--taken not-so-subtly. These, my dears, are perfect examples of old Polish women. They were fantastic.
We made it on--and off!--the bus. This way to the Benedictine Abbey!
What is with this country and dogs watching?
Along the walk
Still walking...
Love this.
This is so meta.
My first view of the abbey.
The church within the abbey's walls.
View from the abbey's edge. As you'll soon see, it was built on chalky (and gorgeous) cliffs, and offered quite the view of the Polish countryside.
Timer shot! The whole Tyniec Abbey crew.
I heart the handle on the church's door.
Abbey windows
An interesting angle
The whole abbey was...kinda...under construction. And Caitlin and I may or may not have accidentally wandered into the, you know, restricted section....ummmm...
A farmyard at a small house near the abbey, as we headed down to the Vistula River.
The mighty abbey itself, as seen in sunlight. Just wait for the real purty stuff, folks.
but first! There were swans!
Left in the dust, like any enthusiastic photographer. They just don't understand.
White cliffs; brick abbey.
The temperate Vistula.
It was just so...perfect.
Yep, it's Poland, baby.
Peering over for a timer shot.
one more!
Last one!
Relaxing.
Climbing. (Please observe man, back right. He judged me. It ruled.)
God, the color was just amazing.
One last shot and then...bye bye, Tyniec!
