Tools: peeler, small tea spoon (not shown), kitchen knife, industrial knife, matches (or toothpicks), cutting board, tea light (little Halloween candle; not shown), red apple (larger the better, this tiny almost crab-apple sized was tough).
Cut off the BOTTOM of the apple and mark a face with the kitchen knife. The cut off bottom will now be referred to as the top. Stick a couple matches in the bottom to support it so the face isn't pointing down and their's less a chance of it rolling over easily.
Use the peeler to hallow out the inside of the the apple, employing a small teaspoon for the final touches.
Continued hallowing. Also, used kitchen knife to carve out the face.
finishing touches.
Tada! All done with the apple!
Take the pick out of the candle and cut the candle shorter with the industrial knife. This might not be necessary if you have a bigger apple than I. What can I say? Apples in Norge are small.
And here we are, shortened candle in finished Jack-O'-Lantern.
Now to turn the lights off, oooo....
OMG it's getting closer!
Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ew gross! Its brains are melting! lol :p Unfortunately the shortening of the candle made the wick melt through early, but it still burned on for a bit.
Spooky romantic scene with candles and the Jack-O'-Lantern on the black table...l but what else is on the table?
Tastey dinner! Let's see if my awful memory systems can dig up what it was... lets see, there were fried bread crumbs and veggies. Gosh, I really don't remember, I'll have to ask the missus what we cooked, but I remember being proud and thinking it tasted really good.
