Creative-Expressive Arts

Mountains of Hope has installed a creative arts classroom through the Intiligencia Program funded by Rotary International and the Emmaus Rotary Club of District 7430, Pennsylvania. This is the first time any Pimampiro school has had such resources and the art classes given are the first ever for these excited students.

Humanitarian Aid

In April 2008, The Prem Rawat Foundation donated $26,000 to deliver 35 tons of disaster relief food to victims of massive flooding on the Ecuadorian coast. Montanas de Esperanza, the legal entity for Mountains of Hope in Ecuador, managed the widely collaborative project that involved hundreds of young people, the Ecuadorian Red Cross, Pimampiro Municipality and local emergency assistance agencies.

Summer 08 Puppetry Camp

Colegio Artesanal - school and home life

One hundred and ten young women, ages 12-14, attend Colegio Artesanal, a textile trade school serving primarily poor rural communities of Pimampiro. Photos of school life and visits to their rural homes showing family life on a small Andean farm.
