"Hi there! I'm Josefina. I'm giving a garden party for my friends." Josefina said.
"There are kabobs cooking over the grill, and I picked fresh strawberries, and made some ginger cookies."
"The kabobs are almost ready!"
"Hi, Josefina!" Emily called. "Hi, Emily." Josefina greeted her first guest.
"I'm glad you could come." Josefina said, smiling shyly. "It's beautiful out here!" Emily grinned. "Those kabobs look delicious."
"Thanks! Do you want to sit down while we wait for the other guests?" Josefina asked. "Sure." Emily agreed.
The girls sat down to chat.
"Hi, guys!" Etta arrived next.
"Am I late?"
"No way, you're right on time!" Josefina hugged her friend.
"It's so nice to see you, Etta!" Emily hugged Josefina too.
While Josefina fussed with her grill, Emily and Etta chatted with each other.
"Hi everyone." Anna climbed up on the picnic table. "Hi, Anna!" Everyone greeted her.
"Am I the last to arrive?"
"Yep, but that's OK!" Josefina hugged her last guest.
"Well, everyone's here now so are you ready to eat?" Josefina asked. "Totally!" All of her guests answered.
"These look delicious!" Emily said as Josefina handed her a kabob.
"They are!" Etta exclaimed.
"Do you like them, Anna?" Josefina asked. "Yes! I love chicken." Anna replied.
"Is everyone ready for dessert?" Josefina asked. "What have you got?" Etta questioned.
"Cookies!" Josefina announced.
"Do you want one, Emily?" Josefina asked. "If they were as good as your kabobs, definitely!" Emily replied.
"They are!" Emily cried, tasting one.
"You've outdone yourself, Josefina, these cookies are delicious."
Soon, there were only two cookies left.
"Ohhh, I ate too much." Emily sighed.
"Me too." Etta groaned.
"Does anyone wanna play a game?" Josefina asked.
"What sort of game?" Anna questioned.
"How about Hide-and-Go-Seek?" Josefina suggested.
"Good idea!" Etta said.
"Wonderful idea. No running involve. *groan*"
"Oh, Emily." Etta laughed.
The girls all stood in a circle to pick who was it. "1, 2, 3, NOT IT!" They all shouted.
Anna said it last, so she was the Seeker.
"You stand over there with your eyes closed and count to 50." Josefina instructed. "We'll go hide."
Anna did as she was told. "1...2...3..."
The girls quickly scattered. Within a few moments, they had all found hiding places.
"49...50!"
"Hmmm, now I wonder where they could be..."
Do you see them anywhere?
Anna slid off the picnic table.
The first thing she spotted was a hot pink skirt peeking out from behind a tree.
"hmmm, I think I spy Josefina...."
"Found you!" Anna exclaimed.
"And I thought this was a good hiding place." Josefina frowned.
When they were walking back, Anna saw the next person.
"Found you, Etta!" Anna smiled.
"I was hoping it would be a good hiding place, but obviously, since you found me in such a short time, it wasn't." Etta said, crawling out from under the picnic bench. Anna gave her a hand to help her up.
"So I guess I only have Emily left to find. Now I wonder where she could be..." Anna thought. "We'll wait here while you look for her." Josefina said.
"Do you see her anywhere?
"She's not that way....."
"And not that way....."
"AH-HA! THERE she is!" Anna exclaimed. "How in the world did you get up in that tree?"
"I don't know. But I certaintly wish I was down there and not up here!"
"Wait, I'll help you." Anna said.
"Oh my word, how in the world did you climb that high?"
"I don't know. I just did it."
"O-kay...but how are you going to get down?"
"Good question." Emily said sarcastically. "Wait, I'll go get Etta and Josefina to help." Anna said.
"No, I think I can get down." Emily said.
"Well, don't fall!" Anna cried.
"AHHH!!!" Emily screamed. "OK, this is SO not good."
"ACK! Emily, you stay, I'll go, don't fall, stay there, ACK!" Anna squealed. "Calm dow.....OW!!!!" Emily shrieked.
"Oof."
"Hey, Anna, you don't make a bad landing pad." "Forget that, GET OFF OF ME!!!"
"Oh, sorry." Emily pulled Anna up.
"What in the world is going on over there?" Etta exclaimed. "We heard a lot of screaming!" Josefina added.
"Oh nothing. I just fell out of a small tree that's all." Emily said.
"That's all she says. She wasn't a landing pad." Anna sniffed.
"I said I was sorry!" Emily exclaimed. "You did not!" Anna cried. "I did too!" Emily insisted. *Offscreen* "Guys, stop fighting!" Etta called out.
After apologizing to each other, Anna and Emily joined their sisters over by the picnic table. "Does anyone want any strawberries?" Josefina asked. "Sure!" Everyone replied.
Everyone climbed up on the table. "The strawberries are over by you, Em, do you want to get them?" Josefina asked.
Emily passed the bowl of fresh strawberries around. Everyone had their fill of the delicious berries.
"So what do you want to do now?" Josefina asked when everyone was done eating.
"Well, as far as Anna and I go, we need to get home. Anna has to babysit her little sister." Etta said.
"I do? Oh, that's right, I do." Anna sighed. "Thanks for the great party, Josefina."
"Oh, you're welcome, Anna. I'm glad you two could come."
"I reckon I better be moseyin' along home too." Emily said. "Thanks for inviting me, Josefina!"
Everyone climbed down from the picnic bench, calling out goodbye to Josefina as they did so. "Thanks everyone for coming!" Josefina called out.

BONUS PICTURE #1 - Sorry, I just had to take this picture. I thought it was hilarious! It was really windy out and every time I set Josefina down, her skirt did this. When it happened for the third time, I knew I just couldn't pass it up anymore, so I snapped a picture.
