"Her image was stitched together using pink thread (the color and activity stereotypically associated with femininity). The words read "I am not a machine", which referenced the incredible pressure she felt to be perfect. The letters referenced the font "Helvetica", but were created by hand and completely free of any type of mechanical device. Her message was mean to help the audience understand that humanity is far more interesting than technological devices."

"This piece was installed in the 2008 DRHSART exhibition at the Red Door Gallery in Richmond, and was featured in the Richmond Times Dispatch. Additionally, it was featured on NBC 12, and was written about in the HCPS school days magazine."

"Rebecca Kuzemchak tied for first in her class in 2009, and ended up attending Duke University. In 2012, Rebecca was awarded the prestigious VMFA Fellowship Grant for undergraduates. I have taught few students in my life with Rebecca's intellectual capacity, and none who could balance this type of dedicated art making with her highly rigorous academic work load."

"Kaelee used resin, wax, acrylic, tape, oil, and graphite to create this delicate and textural painting. She constructed the panel and cradle upon which the surface was built, and treated this as more of a sculpture than a painting. The overall design contains a quiet harmony, and a playful rhythm of line and shape."
