Cell at Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. I first started taking pictures because I loved the symbolism of someone placing a flower there. Then I obsessively took them to document everything I saw so that those of you interested could see it too. Warning to those continuing: you will be horrified.

prepare yourself (or skip the next few): these are photos of the bodies on the day that they found tuol sleng, after it had been abandoned by the khmer rouge. they were already decomposing.

in this case, i think the no smiling/laughing rule is completely justified. and yet i couldn't help smiling/laughing at this sign (on the inside, of course).
note that the barbed wire was to prevent the 'desperate victims from committing suicide.'
each cell in this building was numbered.
