Newport, Rhode Island 2008
Mike & Robyne visit Jim & Bev in Newport, RI 9/08. Newport International Boat Show. Jim's son, Jamie (Jim, Jr.), & Jim's daughter, Megan, & her hubby, John Conner. We watched Patriots & Red Sox, toured Newport several times, day & night, saw the boat show, cooked & ate alot, including a night of fresh Rhode Island seafood w/steamed Little Neck clams, pan-seared scallops, & lobster w/potatoes & corn. Yum Yum. We did not go out to eat at restaurants, opting instead to stay at the condo & cook for ourselves. We had great wine. We enjoyed the resort facilities - pool, hot tub, jacuzzi. We took a day trips out to see the surrounding country side, including the boat show and the shipyard and a driving tour and a separate walking tour of Bellevue Avenue (yep, as in the Monopoly Board Game Bellevue Avenue) mansions, street side & backyard side (the Cliff Walk). Everywhere I pointed the camera was like a post card.
