Front view of the house, taken from a somewhat unflattering angle.
Side view of the house. Also my car. The front porch was all redone last year, so everything--including the roof--is only about a year old.
Back yard. The giant satellite dish will be coming down, and that pole will probably be turned into a basketball hoop at some point. The shrubbery in the back hides a chain-link fence into the cemetary.
View when you enter the house. This is the living room and the stairs to upstairs. The fireplace is decorative.
Living room from the other side. The room's about 11x22.
Peeking into the family room. That's the dining room off to the left. The double doors in the family room are a great big closet.
For some reason, this is the only picture that I have of the dining room. The windows in the dining room and the family room are identical--they both have lovely windows and windowseats.
Entering the kitchen from the dining room. There's a rolly cart next to the stove that will stay with us.
Kitchen again--fridge and oven.
Cupboards to the right of the kitchen sink--immediately to the right of this picture is the door to the dining room.
Cupboards above the fridge and stove. I'm not sure how we're meant to reach into that tall one, but it's nice to have, I suppose.
Downstairs bathroom--shower curtain, sink, medicine cabinet, toilet.
Downstairs bathroom, again--this time, the gorgeous blue bathtub. I love it. The bathroom is huge--the left wall isn't in this picture, but we could probably put a small chaise there if we wanted.
Going upstairs. Gorgeous leaded glass window and charming old light.
Previous pic from another angle.
This is the pantry off of the office. (The house was a duplex at one point, so this was actually a pantry. Obviously, we will use it to store books.) The third wall is also lined with shelves.
The office! Slash laundry room. Since this used to be a kitchen, there's still cabinetry and a sink up here, so we're thinking that a second floor laundry room might be an awesome plan.
The sink and cabinetry in the office slash laundry room. There's also a pegboard there, for some reason.
Upstairs bathroom. Smaller than downstairs, but more recently updated.
This is not a great picture, but what this is is a GIANT CABINET OF STORAGE. It goes probably five feet back, and there are thee drawers beneath it--they're probably about three feet deep.
Maura's bedroom. The door to the left dumps you in the hallway, the right is her walk-in closet.
This is Maura's walk-in closet. It is big enough to hold a double bed and still have room to spare. She wants it to be a sleeping cave, so we will be putting her (twin) bed in there, along with a nightstand and maybe a bookshelf. It is huge.
Walk-in closet in the guest bedroom.
Not a very good shot of the guest bedroom.
The grown-up bedroom. They have a king-sized in bed in there right now, so our bed will have a little more wiggle room, as we've only got a queen.
The other side of the grown-up bedroom. Also Nick and Barry, who is the current owner of the house.
Upstairs hallway taken from the doorway of the master bedroom. The first door on the left is Maura's room, then past that there's the giant cupboard, and then the steps to downstairs. On the right, it's the guest bedroom, then the bathroom. At the end of the hall is the office/laundry.
