Dedication of Micro-Nano Flow Laboratory-חנוכת המעבדה למיקרו וננו-זרימה
On January 16, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering held a ceremony to dedicate a new laboratory, the Micro- and Nano-Fluidics Laboratory, headed by Dr. Gilad Yossifon. The new laboratory focuses on both fundamental as well as application-oriented research towards the development of novel micro- and nano-fluidic devices, involving primarily electrokinetic actuation. The latter include applications areas such as energy (e.g. micro-heat exchangers), healthcare (e.g. Lab-on-a-chip) and other (e.g. nanofluidic electronic circuit equivalents). The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Technion administration, as well as the Faculty's academic and administrative staff. Prof. Peretz Lavie, President of the Technion, Prof. Oded Shmueli, Executive Vice President for Research and Prof. Pinhas Bar-Yoseph, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, spoke at the ceremony. They stressed the importance of the laboratory to the Technion and to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
