Catholic University, Polish Consulate
Today I had an unusual experience. A student, Olga, alerted me that there was a speaker at Ukrainian Catholic University. I have wanted to visit this university, and the speaker sounded interesting. From Damascus, Syria, she has experienced stigmata.
We went, the hall was crowded, and a priest did most of the speaking for Myrna (in French, then translated to Ukrainian). When she spoke, she was very generous and welcoming. Schoolchildren occupied the balconies. Myrna has experienced stigmata for 25 years, and the priest interprets the timing and messages as a message to Eastern and Western Christianity to be unified (especially in the date of Easter).
The university was, until recently, a theological university.
Spring is popping, and as I ambled back toward the city center, I saw hordes of Ukrainians waiting at the Polish Consulate for visas -- a longer process now that Poland is in the EU.
