I didn't want to Gesso every page so instead I collaged every page and then played with paints for the backgrounds. I have a lot to learn about creating backgrounds. The one on this spread stunk so I covered it up with some torn paper collage. It was too bright so I put tissue paper over it. Then it was a bit too chalky. My first page, okay, but...
