McCain/Palin Fairfax rally 9/10/08 What a wonderful time we had! And a big thanks to the Fairfax School Board, which voted in emergency session not to allow the McCain campaign to hold their rally as scheduled at Fairfax High School - though Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have had events at high schools throughout their campaign. But what a blessing it turned out to be that the venue was changed, as 23,000 people showed up - energized, excited, and elated as the campaign has picked up steam. Maddy, her friend JC and I got up early to find our way there. With the help of a state trooper who rode side-by-side with us to give us directions - just like a movie - we found our way to Van Dyck Park, where someone grabbed us to put us in the VIP section - better than a press pass!
