This piece entitled The Mother-Daughter Tie presents a mother and daughter observing a Kumquat Tree near Higashi Betsuin Shrine, Nagoya during spring 1978. Reds used between the mother and daughter convey a powerful relationship of happiness and prosperity. The Kumquat Tree reflects the nature of the mother/daughter relationship and their physical and emotional growth. Tied branches symbolise strong emotional bonds between the two subjects while dually representing the challenges that stand in life's path.
Digital Art Using graphics editing software, my work involves the creation of digital art pieces based on black and white photographs taken between 1930 - 1980. The selected age of the images coupled with the use of dull colours aim to invoke feelings of distant memories or surreal dreams involving the past.
