This is definitely my favorite of the day. Shot directly into the sun light so I had to speed up the shutter speed all the way to 1/1000 (to get the sky to a deep dark blue and not bleach out the clouds). Then I had to open the aperture up to get more light from the flash (note I had to use high sync flash as well). All this thanks to Strobist seminar!

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Went on a day trip out to SD. Took Route 78 all the way to Julian for the famous Julian Apple Pie and then continued to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to view the cactus flowers. We first stopped by the visitor center and then continued through the park (but no flowers) with a final stop at Badlands for a disappointing sunset. While we didn't see any flowers, I was able to get a couple shots I really liked and the weather was gorgeous (just the right amount of clouds!)
