Here's the crew (minus my sis) waiting for our ferry to the Olympic Penninsula. Please note: in all photos the Sweckers are being strange. It's just the way they are.
I love ferry rides!
Roughing it in Maria's backyard! Here's Kita and Ian's cozy little tent.
Meredith and I camped out in bivys...
And Devon and Maria brought their portable mansion. Here is Devon posing like a warrior.
Every few minutes we'd get lost. And then we'd figure it out...
Crescent Lake...Beautiful!
Hiking through woods on a (not) snowy evening.
Me and a bridge. I really do like the Pacific Northwest.
Ian and that same bridge.
And now for crabbing adventures! Here you see two shrimp pots in the foreground and the massive crab pot in back!
Here's the lovely dock we fished off of.
Baiting with stinking salmon parts (the red stuff in the middle), Jacob throws the crab pot into the sea.
Port Angeles from above. Lovely day for crabbing!
Meredith and Jacob discussing the nutritional benefits of crustaceans.
Our crab and shrimp pots are down there. Catching our dinner.
Here Jacob proved to be the manliest man by handling the jumping shrimp without flinching. Ian was a manly man too. But all the girls were...well...girls. I couldn't really touch them without jumping.
Almost too cute to eat. Almost, but not quite. :)
Here is me trying my hand at pulling up a rather heavy crab pot.
We got some!
Jacob is a sea boy. Born and bred.
I am a mountain girl. Thus I smile...but do not touch the live pinching sea spiders.
We dipped this crab in the shrimp bucket. Poor shrimpie!
More crab coming up!
Red Rock crabs must be a certain size to keep them. We caught a few that were big enough!
Once again, the PNW boy shows us how things are done. To kill a crab instantly simply push a hatchet through its center all the way down to the wood block.
Once you break the crab in half, you can remove it's outer shell, pick off the gills, and scrape out it's guts with your fingers.
Our dinner waiting to be cooked!
Preparing shallot butter, the salad, and the yummy loaf of bread!
A feast for a king!
Devon and Maria invited us to stay in their mansion the second night. It was quite the slumber party.
Tea and Oatmeal overlooking Victoria Island. What a morning!
Ian and Devon discussing what? Oh yeah, business ventures.
Ian found a friend!
Here are the girls reverting back to elementary school. We built this lovely fort (rock stools, shingles on the roof, and we put a flower in the center!) Here we are chanting and singing while the boys discuss...business ventures.
I LOVE MY FAMILY! What a blessing to have two siblings in Seattle!
On our way HOME! Home sweet Seattle.
