LILLIPUTIAN — Stern twists the coring tool while Ed Carroll watches the process, hoping his tree will be a Louisiana Purchase Tree. The tree actually predated the purchase by at least 600 years.
Johnny and Mamie Majoria stand at the site of their LPCL Founder's Tree (Plaque #3) located on their property at Sargent Lake, Catahoula Parish. It is about 23 feet in circumference and is estimated (from tree borings) to be over 500 years old.

This Cypress Legacy bald cypress is approximately 29 feet in circumference (measured 5' above the water line) and is estimated to be between 800 and 1300 years old, based on tree corings. It is located north of Hwy 22 near the Tangiapahoa River in Tangiapahoa Parish.
