Walter's room, the only room we hadn't had a chance to update yet.
With the exception of the new window, which we put in some time last summer.
The office, where Joab and Emily slept for 3 months. Wow. This room barely got started and then we kept leaving for months at a time. Jonathan also occupied this room for a few months.
At least it had this lovely red wall, and a built in desk. The shelves were not stable enough though and came crashing down once when it was Jonathan's room.
This wall was just horrible. It needed mold removed (we did that when we moved in) and there was wallpaper to take down. And this window...yikes!
We did this bathroom when we first moved in. All we did though was paint. At least it has a cute new shower curtain. There are big plans in store for this little bathroom. If you've used it, please let me know: should we keep the double sinks or just have one really nice, big one?
The long hallway. This needs help, because it hasn't been painted yet and the previous remodel left it with uneven texture. Lots of fun in store in this dark and narrow place.
Back to Walter's room: a nice shot of the window.
The closet insert was put in last fall too, after our bedroom was remodeled. A lot of patching had to be done on these walls.
The office, with the desk and shelves removed. We had a lot of patching to do on the walls.
I'm a very lazy patcher...it's hard to get the texture just right.
The primer for the areas that had patching done. The new parts of the wall really need 3 or more coats of paint.
All the patched areas.
Geo working on hanging the new doors for each room in the East Wing.
Good bye, old door. This is Sabrina/Maria/the Kids' Room.
A pile of old trim and old doors. Good riddance.
Lexi in her favorite spot...the linen closet. It also got a new set of bi-fold doors.
Lexi wasn't feeling well this day. She was sort of taking it easy.
This bloody paw may be why. Not sure what happened, but it's better now.
Geo looking at the new window for the office. The old one was so old...single pane, no screen, and a bullet hole. Really, it was time for a new one.
Shavings from planing the door to the office. It was really uneven and it needed a lot of work. I did it all.
I got some paint in my hair, great.
En guarde!
The new door in the bathroom. Ooh, aah.
My painting set up in the hallway. It's very dark and narrow for this sort of work, but I think it beats being outside.
Looking out the new office window.
