near Zuxax NM, 09/12/09, Saturday, ~9:20a ... I left Moriarty NM just before 9a and started on out a bright, sunny day. These 2 pics are taken just east of this town, along Sedillo Hill Road, a spectacular and twisty section of 1937-1949 Route 66.

Albuquerque NM, 09/12/09, Saturday, 9:40a-10:45a ... Timing is everything. Unfortunately, I missed many of the famed Route 66 locations through Albuquerque ... because of the parade through Albuquerque, which I found out later was for the NM state fair. When the "detour" signs forced me off Route 66, I pulled over in an office building complex and compared my atlas detailed map of Albuquerque to the Route 66 maps provided in the EZ Guide ... and was able to maneuver back to Route 66 just west of "Old Towne" ... and snapped these two pictures.

Just as I pulled into the parking lot for the Continental Divide, it started POURING rain. So, I waited for about 15 minutes. The rain stopped, and I ventured out of the Charger and snapped these pictures.
