after 1 hr of hitchhiking from Poprad and first 1.5 hr of hiking I am on Strbske Pleso - a village next to a mountain lake of the same name. The small red arrow shows the spot. I am heading for Krivan - the peak on the max left.

another mountain lake I passed on the way "Jamske Pleso" - meaning "holes lake" (name most probably taken from the lake being in a "hole" among the hills)

the symbol of Slovakia (double cross) on the peak of Krivan - another one of symbols of Slovakia, must have been a tough job getting it up here :P

if You look carefully You can see a lake behind / above the hill in front... thats Strbske Pleso - I have started the hike from a place 400 meters lower than that :P

Looking up to Krivan - just climbed down
a lot of the forests in High Tatras are still damaged by a huge storm that came in Autum 2004... big portions of the forests have been literary razed down. Nature is working hard but it will take decades to cover up completely.
