Walk Across Slovakia

I have made a trip of 185 km from the Northern to Southern border of Slovakia.. it took me 6 days and ... was really a good thing to do. I challenged myself and enjoyed going with a clear goal but an unclear tomorrow :)

hills of Martinske Hole (1470 m) and Mincol (1363 m)

I felt like getting out again, so I went to these hills that are to west from my hometown. It felt good, the view was nice, air was cold and generally another nice trip :)

Banska Bystrica - my second home

this is a small town with lots of history where I have spent 5 years during my university studies... this is also where I started to work for AIESEC and generally a lot happened here... I love this town

1600 m uphill in one day - Tatra mountains and the peak Krivan

I started to walk from the village of Tatranska Strba (894 m) and finished on the peak of Krivan at 2494 m above sea level, whatta trip :)

the hill of Suchy Vrch (Dry Mountain)

this hill is right above my town (vrutky), starting altitude of 382 m above sea level, end stop at 1468 m ... nice way to spend an afternoon :)

Bratislava (the capital)

a friend of mine had birthday so I used the chance and went for a trip (hitch hiking) to Bratislava... really nice city, didnt take too many pictures... sorry...next time :)

this trip took me to the rocky hills above the village where my mom was born, we slept over the cottage - the part of the birthhouse which is left

30 km walk to house where my grandparents live (village Maly Cepcin)

I have decided to walk as far as I can, just to see how can I manage and when my mom told that I should visit my grandparents I combined those two things :) ...all in all it was around 30 km walking and taking a train back

castles of Strecno and picking mushrooms

there are two castles in Strecno - the old and new, the old is a ruin, the new is a museum... I hitchhiked and than hiked to the old one, on the way I was picking some mushrooms - both pleasant and efficient trip :D

a whole day round trip with my brother and father (doesnt look like 57, does he?:) to the hilltops with a stop in a cave on the way

the town of Martin and "Attilas Grave"

I took my bike and went to the town, Attila was a great and feared warrior of the Huns few hunders years ago, the legend says that he is burried in this little hill... in fact its a natural hill with an old cemetary (between 1st and 2nd World War) on the top
