Agriculture: Pineapple

KLDF supplied three villages with 45,000 pineapple plants. Although pineapples are slow to mature the villagers have looked after them diligently and now have a substantial added source of income with minimal maintenace.

Agriculture Project: Fish breeding

KLDF provides support to build and stock tilapia fish ponds so that remote hilltribe villagers are able supplement their daily diet with a source of protein and lower daily household costs.

Montessori - Open House

Agriculture Project: Pig husbandry

KLDF's pig husbandry project matches donors with hilltribe family beneficiaries. The needy family is given a female pig for breeding, a pig pen, and an initial loan for pig. After the first litter is returned the loan is repaid and one piglet is returned to the project, which in turn is given to a new family to perpetuate the project.

Agriculture Project: Jatropha

Jatropha is a bio-diesel producing tree that will serve the dual purpose of reforesting the land and earning the participating villagers an extra income. Through the support of the Plant-a-Tree-Today Foundation KLDF provided disadvantaged hilltribe villagers with 32,000 tress to plant over 80 rai (12.8 hectares) of land.
