The pressure ridges near Scott Base from the Helo
Mary Lynn getting some footage of the hut and penguin rookery at Cape Royds with Mt. Erebus in the distance.
If you look closely you can see the hut out there. The penguin rookery is on that grayish looking lump of land.
I loved the rock out there!
The volcanic rock was really interesting. I couldn't help but think that McMurdo would look like that if we hadn't set up shop.
Mary Lynn getting some more footage. You can see the Barne Glacier in the distance and the tip of Castle Rock behind that.
The hut and penguin rookery a bit closer up.
Me with Mt. Erebus in the distance.
Me posing for a photo in the opposite direction.
The sea ice with Erebus in the distance.
Not sure if this thing has a name, but we flew past it and I thought it was cool. Also, I think that if it doesn't have a name, they should name it after me.
Flying towards the Barne Glacier on the way back to town
Paul, the helo pilot, was awesome and took us in close for a better look at the Barne.

I love glaciers, if you couldn't tell.
Flying closer to Erebus since we had extra time and fuel.
Paul flew us over this big crevasses... so cool.
Crevasse field on the side of Erebus
View from the back seat - not too shabby!
Taking a sharp left in the helo.
Beautiful!
