Monica in our lovely Bangkok hostel room, with iron-hard beds on the floor, no a/c (and therefore hotter than blazes), and the narrowest "blankets" we have ever seen! When it did cool down during the night we just used our sarongs for coverings.
Our saviors, as Mon says - iced coffees! We retreat to air-conditioned coffee shops daily to escape from the searing tropical heat.
Mini Thailand flags fluttering in KhaoSan
I was trying to get the flowers in focus in the foreground, but it didn't really work
Another lovely Bangkok temple, with a tuk tuk hidden behind the hedge that drove up behind us on the sidewalk. You are never safe from traffic in SE Asia!
You can't mail a stamp with an image of Buddha on it...but apparently you can make massive casts of him in gold plastic
"The Giant Swing" in front of a temple, which is not a swing at all and we have no idea why it is called such
I love Thai script
Crepes with banana, mango, and dragonfruit drizzled in honey. I have had some fabulous breakfasts here
Rama 8 Bridge over the Chao Phraya River from our hostel courtyard
The river taxi we rode from Rama 8 Pier to Oriental Pier. I love how it looks just like a bus inside
Monica on the river taxi
The Temple of Dawn, perhaps Bangkok's most famous landmark
Temple of Dawn from the Chao Phraya River
My Vietnamese toes in the Thai sandals I had to buy after I broke my shoe on the Bangkok roads
Egg & veggie fried rice. So good!
