Visit to Germany
13.5 -17.5.09 I went to dee Daniel in Germany. That was my first trip to Germany and the easiest way to travel was the interrail ticket. Tampere - Frankfurt Hahn - Frankfurt Main - Hannover - Göttingen - Braunshweig - Dortmund - Düsseldorf - Köln - Frankfurt Hahn - Tampere.

Skiing at ZAO-San
After my Tokyo trip I went to ski with two of my lab members. We went to a famous ski resort called ZAO. The weather was fine and we could see far away from the top. It was really nice to go to ski in a big place for the first time.

Japanese snow garden
31.1.2009 it snowed a lot. I got a brilliant idea to go to Rinnouji-teien Rinnoji Zen Garden when it snows. It snowed abou 5-10cm

Gyoza party
28.1.09 we made dumblings (gyoza) with our lab. It was hell of an experience. To work all day for dumblings... In the end we drank and ate. I didn't stick for the cleaning :P

Akiu Onsen
18.1 I went to bath in Akiu onsen. We took a bus from sendai station there. Akiu onsen is one of the 3rd famous onsens in Japan and Date Masamunes favourite.

Tondosai
14.1 in Oosakihachimangu there are a festival called Tondosai. The main event is burning your old charms and buying new ones. There are also half naked men defying weather and walking everywhere.

Chiba
Last day I checked out the hotel. I didn't have any plans so I just mailed my friend and headed to Chiba. Without knowing what will happen. I met my friend and we rode monorail and watched his recommended place. When I returned to Sendai in the morning it was snowing.

On the third day I rested and went walking with my friend. We toured Tokyo on foot and walked quite a while. Didn't really find anything special on that day. Everyday is a good day.

Comike
After good night partying I went to Comike with my other friend. I felt tired and the subculture of anime and manga didn't feel like my own. I don't like it (ノ">.<)ノ" I'M NOT AN OTAKU.

Christmas Santa Parade
23.12 In Sendai during the Peagant of Starlight there is Christmas parade of Santas. I took apart to the parade as a santa. I was the only Finnish Santa in the parade. ^^

Joulujuhla
I went to Sendai - Finland association christmasparty on 22.12. the Santa Clause had also come from Finland. There were lot of food and nice classical music performance from Finnish-Japanese Janne.

Kaminoyama castle
I have long wanted to wisit the other castle that is nearby Sendai. The Kminoyama castle is situated in Yamagata-ken and you can go there by train. Just ride till Kaminoyama onsen. I also stopped to see what Yamagata had to offer to us. Really not much...

Autumn colours

Rinnouji

Vegalta@Miyagi
Vegalta Sendais second game against the leader Hiroshima was in Miyagi Stadium. It was one of the japna World Cup Stadiums. The game was a little boring since Hiroshima had 28point lead to the second (Yamagata) and 31point to third (Sendai).

Aobayamamarathon
The ekiden A.K.A the aobayama marathon was the 42nd time. Different facilities ran different time and our Material section ran by ourself. I was 33rd fastest in the running and our team was 7th fastest out of 35 teams and 280 runners. The route was 1,3km long.

@home imonikai
@home organized a imonikai for us. It was a nice gathering and I got to meet new people and hang out with my friends. The only thing that makes the thing bad is the cleaning afterwards.

Yosakoi Soran
13.10 There was a Yosakoi Soran festival. It's a quite new festival but very popular. It was the main event for our Yosakoi club and I went there to see my friends. They were dancing with 150 members ^_^. It's their home event so it was the main festival for them.

Mufa Mufa imoni
The Imoni is a Tohoku area custom. The Japanese gather along the riverside to cook a soup that's called imoni. Two different styles are Yamagata adn Miyagi imoni. I went to the Mufa Mufa assosiation imoni and then at home welcome party.

I wanted to see fukuoka. I checked out from the Hotel at 5am and took the 6am train to fukuoka. I had 4 hours at there and I had to return early since I had to catch the 15.00 plain back to Sendai.

Ancient history
I went to explore the Sendais historycal museums. I found a 20 000 years old forest from the Yayoi-era and went to a Jomon-era (after Yayoi-era but ~10 000years ago) park. The next day I went to a Library museum and a science park.

I went first to Shinjuku to see the skycrapers and hopefully see the view from the top of one. I had bought a ticket on saturday to Ghibli museum so I went there also. I returned to take some night photos of skyscrapers witch are so nice.

In the 4th day I headed to the naval town of Yokohama. This was the town that Japan introduced to the port town to abroad after the Americans had opened Japan for trade. This is where the magic happened.

Japantent part 1 I went to the 21st Japan Tent at Ishikawa-ken. The main place is at Kanazawa but the firts homestay was in Kawakita machi. I was lycky to make mochi and sushi. Also other things.
