First view of lake and surrounding land as one comes up and over the hill between property and main road. The small structure seen in distance is a floating swim platform/ entertainment pavilion/ bar anchored 120' out from west side of lake. To the left and about 50' behind from where this picture was taken is a 36'x34' metal pole barn.
Rolling hills down west side of property as seen from southwest corner. There is a large cove of the lake down between these 2 hills.
View from south end of property showing gentle rolling hills on east side. A small 1/2 acre pond complements the 6 acre lake below it.
View from hill on west side looking east across lower end of lake. Tall structure on telephone poles is an 8'x8' deer blind standing 30' from ground.
Another view from hilltop on west side looking eastward and showing open acreage starting below the lake's dam wall and continuing up the small hill in the distance.
The swim platform and entertainment pavilion. The long opening under the roof has 2 hinged doors that swing in and up to reveal a bar. Enclosed area is 8'x16' and is divided into 2 rooms. The bar room is 8'x10' and the private changing room is 8'x6'. The changing room also has a shelving unit in it for storage.
View from northeast area of property looking southward across lake. Beyond the swimming platform is a dock on south end of lake that extends 70' out. Close to that is a shelter house with concrete floor. The cabin is barely visible due to the surrounding trees. At the top of the hill, in the far distance, is a metal pole barn standing at the entrance to the property.
Another view of swim platform and entertainment pavilion. Diving board is visible. The swim platform is powered by an onshore generator housed in it's own shed. The swim platform has lights, 2 fans, floodlights, and outlets.
View of west side hill, looking south.
This shows all major structures on property, except the deer stand, from swim platform in front, followed by the southend dock, the lakeside shelter house, the cabin further back and off to the right and finally the metal pole barn standing at the top of the south hill. The lakeside shelter house is 18'x24', has a concrete floor, and has lights and 2 weatherproof outlets. The pole barn has a concrete floor and is 36'x34'. It has an 18'x26' shop room that is lighted and powered with numerous outlets. There is a 36'x18' bay area for parking for tractors, ATV's, mowers, etc.
Entrance to cabin from gravel road. The patio is approximately 2200 sq feet of exposed aggregate. Split face concrete block walls are in place for looks as well as to stop any erosion. Large mulch bed is between block walls on right with several mature dogwood and maple trees centered in place.
The lake, dock, and swim platform as seen from the wrap-around deck of the cabin.
Another view from the cabin deck with a more eastward direction showing the hunting stand as well. A neighbors barn and farmhouse is about 1/2 mile off in the distance.
Sunsets are nice but very early mornings can be just as beautiful, especially with fog coming off the lake.
Dogwoods in bloom. Disregard the date on this photo.
A couple of dogwoods near wildlife feeder as seen from deer stand about 125 yards away. Again, disregard the date.
Spring thunderstorm.
Spring thunderstorm, looking eastward.
Some of the native wildlife.
The 3 Amigos, again. The lower mount scored 175. There are nice deer around here. This photo shows that walls of cabin are 10" channel rustic western cedar and the ceiling is 6" tongue and groove #2 knotty white pine. The floor is an exoctic hardwood, Kentucky Coffee. The ceiling fan is suspended by a 6' rod.
Swim platform being constructed in 2007. The one-piece bar is in place and is made from a 3" thick slab of red elm.
The diving platform and springboard. The swim platform was moved out in the lake later in 2007 and is now anchored over 13' of water. The lake's maximum depth is about 16'.
Under construction in April, 2007. Just 3 months earlier, the south dock was completely rebuilt. Brrrr! we did that in late January and February when the lake was frozen over hard. The ice made it easier to work since we could stand on it.
Date is wrong. This road and drainage ditch were put in during the fall of 2005.
Earlier view taken fall of 2006, before south dock was rebuilt but after deer blind went up because that's where this picture was taken from.
Looking South from dam wall on a beautiful fall day. The winter weather in southern Indiana can be a lot milder than climates not that far to the north. Yes, we get cold weather but there always seems to be periods of relatively mild, tolerable weather as well.
Fall day on top of hill overlooking the cabin. The white pines you see in front of cabin have really taken off and this view no longer exists. The pines are now tall enough to offer privacy, a windbreak, and are now providing shade in the late afternoon.
The deer stand going up. I hunt with a 25 WSSM in a scoped handgun with a 16" barrel since that is legal in Indiana while the same cartridge in a rifle is not. With a high-powered handgun or a long-range muzzle loader, one can cover virtually the entire property from this stand. I've shot coyotes out to 250 yards and several deer at distances out to 200 yards. Each window has a wide sill to place sandbags on.
The stand as Bambi might naively see it while nonchalantly munching on some greens and daydreaming about the upcoming rut.
Get inside! A late afternoon thunderstorm getting ready to break loose. This photo shows the front of the 16'x12' screen room and deck that wraps around it. I had to find a way to protect the screens from our dogs jumping up on them hence the lattice work.
