The morning crowd. I hung out in the back to get pictures.
Mainstream media gets to set-up right up front.
There is supposed to be a moment of silence at the exact time the bomb fell. These people were across the river protesting the moment of silence for some reason.
Doesn"t look like I am the only one curious about the cacophony coming from across the river.
I thought it was interesting that the protesters were given a nice little guard of riot police. You know, to "protect" them.
Especially form that little guy in the middle of the picture. Have you ever seen a more shifty guy?
Here is the escort taking up the rear.
Later that night they release floating lanterns into the river. This was taken from a bride very close to the A-bomb Dome.
Here is the river of fire flowing upstream and under the "T" bridge. The "T" bridge was rebuilt afte rhte bomb. The original was used as a site for the bombing.
Here the lanterns are collecting north of their launching point. A few people are launching theirs from here.
Another angle. I was trying to catch the skyline in this photo.
A little up close shot. These are a little blurry because my camera needs a few seconds to take the picture due to the low light. I'm surprised they turned out this well.
You can see some of the designs people printed on their lantern.
