Here's the other pad that measures the moisture. In the back there's the watering hose running to other plants as well.
Hose is PVC pipe pinch with hole and inserted a CARBON FIBER nozzle. No tomato can live without CARBON FIBER.
The watering unit itself. Left pot is the moisture limit which causes watering to happend. The rightmost potentiometer is the watering time. Red button is for manual watering (read: to impress friends - LOOK THERE'S WATER COMING FROM THE HOSE!). Connectors from up to down: water level (in the tank), moisture sensors and finally pump motor voltage.
Here are this years tomatoes, the box, tank and watering hose.
The pump itself attached with the water level control.
Here's the antenna that transmits data over the radio.
This is the box inside that receives the data and sends the data to router trough ethernet and then trough the internet. The device box is really carefully chosen and designed for this purpose. It took almost a minute to make holes for leads and fit everything to the box :)
