Ella in her new chef's hat and apron that GiGi's friend, Judy, made for her.
Yes, they are both really asleep.
Helping mommy do her make-up. Boppie bought this as a special present for Ella.
We had to teach her that you don't have to dig into the make-up, but just dab it gently.
With some butterfly finger puppets.
Getting ready to go into the butterfly exhibit.
My butterfly with a butterfly.
You can see that this one has a broken left wing. That's why you have to be VERY gentle with butterflies. They are fragile.
Alexandrite
More Alexandrite
What Joe got me for our 5 year anniversary. : ) Just kidding.
The Hope Diamond
This is the first time it's been on display without a setting. You can see the old setting laying next to it. Apparently a new setting is being designed.
Dinosaurs!
Sorry it's blurry. Whenever there's an elephant we have to get a picture of Ella with the elephant.
Ella saw this and asked me to sing the buffalo song. Of course I started singing "Home on the Range." She quickly corrected me and clarified, "The Larry buffalo song." Of course, Veggie Tales wins out.
Oh Carol Burnett, how I wish your show was still on TV.
Hi Ho, this is Kermit the Frog
Couldn't leave without a picture of Dorothy's slippers.
Fun in the photo booth.
Painting her ABC cup at Paint This.
She chose the colors and decided where they would go.
Eventually she did get the whole thing covered in paint.
She picked out this coffee mug to give Boppie for her wedding.
We wanted it to be a surprise, but as soon as Ella saw Metti she said, "Boppie, I painted a cup for you!"
Ella, Millie and Joe watching "Aristocats."
Millie wanted Ella to sit on her princess couch with her, but Ella wouldn't do it. So instead Millie just sat on the floor next to Ella.
Ella looks so scared, but really she was fine.
At the Planetarium getting ready for the show.
Playing at the Air and Space Museum
Riding the carousel.
Having fun at the park
Joe decided that he wanted to swing.
Making M&M cookies with mommy.
Testing out the finished product. She ate 2, then had yogurt, some beef from dinner, then half of a 3rd cookie.
On the boat headed to National Harbor.
Sweet girl! She had a smile on her face the entire ride.
And this is where she stood nearly the entire boat ride.
The Awakening statue
It totally creeps me out, which is why I had to take a picture and post it.
Here's our boat ready to take us back to Old Town.
Joe at the front of the boat. I'm sure there's some nautical term for it, but I don't know what it is.
Me :)
Not to shabby for taking it ourselves.
