On the fast train to NY: it took 3 hrs to go from DC to Newark, next to Manhattan
My first view of NY, getting out at the World Trade Center metro
The busy and lively Fulton Street
No idea why NY has such an old ship docked here
Fulton st docks
Brooklyn bridge and the boat taxis which take you under
Aren't I cool?
Walking along Fulton street, we found a cool foyer and decided to go in. Each square in the ceiling has a small mirror inset providing a very glittery yet refined feel
Wall street
Stock exhchange- closed to visitors since sept 11
Visitors obsessed over taking pictures with this famous bull statue next to wall street. It's said that it gives you financial luck if you touch it.
Just a fountain near Battery park
These tiny subway stairs are the only way to access the mass transit
Every window of the subway had scribbled graffiti over it.
Times square!
Wax museum with Mr. Star Trek. Or as I'd prefer, Xavier
Aishwarya Rai, the most famous Bollywood actress

Rachel Ray
Beating up the Rock
Giving Gandhi some honor by touching his feet

A view of New Jersey's pride of their downtown, right next to the water
WTC site from battery park
This ball sculpture rested inside the WTC main tower until it fell. It was recovered in this form and is now on display in battery park. It's amazing that it survived to this extent!
And life continues, even in the depths of destruction
Battery park's WWII memorial
Empire state building from the street
An inside view of the empire state
From the top of the empire state building
Can you believe a pigeon flew up 86 stories???
From our evening sightseeing cruise around NY. It cost $13 each for 2 hours, good deal for New York!!!
Our hotel Marriott view next to the airport. Never stay here! It's impossible to travel to and from here in any timely matter.
Apple store on 5th avenue
Central park's Bethesda plaza- I work in Bethesda it was weird to see another place named similarly
Many wedded couple walked Central Park
When 9 million people live in a city, chances are, they want to go to the park on the weekend. It's crowded! But that's a good thing. More personality this way.
From a castletop in central park, looking down upon
The apartments have a great view of the park but the neighborhood around it is riddled with trash and poor inhabitants. Hey if it's low rent I'd live there.
These subway performers showed some impressive skill in the hopes of getting a few bucks
My evening boat tour guide was quite the character.
