Travis' first bull mahi
The Sunset Grille
For those of you who think we survive by Chef Boy Ardee alone!
Georgetown, Great Exuma
And right across the way -the Chat 'n Chill Beach Club, Stocking Island
After a cold and wet night. These slippers are West Marine issue, ha ha!
The Atlantis resort dwarfs anything near it on New Providence Island (Nassau).
Pretty Chub Cay
We poor folks weren't even really supposed to be at the exclusive Chub Cay Club Marina, but the staff were very friendly and helpful nonetheless. This is our friend Don Scott at the fuel dock.
Passing through the last cut in the Bahamas, this is Gun Cay to the north...
...
...and North Cat Cay to the south. Somebody payed an awful lot of money to have those palm trees put in!!
Looks like the makings of a resort
Approaching Alicetown, Bimini Islands. Check out the shipwreck on shore.
The channel between South and North Bimini was skinny...
...but the birds seem to like it.
A plethora of conch shells, some in pretty applications...
...some not. P.U.!!!
Here's that shipwreck.
Travis commented that it's a whole lot rustier than the last time he was here!
We didn't get to check this one out since it was closed everytime we went by (slow season) but it's a well known place. It has sand floors inside.
This is what's left of the Compleat Angler Hotel & Bar.
From this angle, it looks religious! Funny, since it apparently was an institution all its own. So sad I missed it!
I was about to snap this photo when Mr. Saunders emerged. He was happy to be in the photo anyway!
This is one of the guestrooms. This mural covers most of one side of the suite. Check out all the tiny details -he created every bit of this from recycled/found materials. I see something new everytime I look at these photos.
One of the bedrooms, “The Mermaid Room”
Wow!
Here was one of my favourites. Find: the conch shell, the mecidine bottle, the kid's barrette, the fishing lure, the seaglass, the broken bottle... anything else?
And nearby, another disappointing beach.
