Our first anchorage at Five Bays

...but it's too rough, so we duck into the next bay. And look! Snow-capped mountains!
We learned that the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta range is the highest coastal mountain range in the world.

The fisherman throw out their nets, covering a good area in the bay
Then two teams, one on each end, pull in the net from shore.
Unfortunately, they weren't met with much success this day. They made three such attempts.
The following day, we return from a first attempt of our own! It was still too rough to leave heading northeast.
It was good for those southbound, though!
We finally headed out again later on in the morning and conditions were improving.

As we reach Cabo de la Vela, the landscape is becoming much more arid.
Maddy the boat dog on “Constance”
She is 14 years old and fearless! She stands on the pontoons as they zip along at full speed. That's her Mom & Dad, Barbara & John, acting as her chauffeurs. “Whaddaya want... I'm a hundred!”
