What it used to look like.
This was before we cleaned anything up. The main part of the wall is out, and so is the pantry. I hated that pantry door.
The studs from the wall, mid day.
Our dining room wall.
After shop vac'n the entire kitchen for drywall scraps, all this was able to be swept up.
Now, nice and open!
That dangly thing is the kitchen light switch. That should get fixed soon!
New electrical work in the basement.
Notice the light switch isn't dangling anymore!
Combined light switch! Newly relocated power outlet. Hole in the wall...
BAM! Both switches, one location. We love it!
This is a file from the website that shows the color and style of our new cabinet doors!
Jenn (pregers) putting up some primer.
Me (not preggers) priming the ceiling.
Max, onlooking during the primer painting.
Red Wall Gone.
Notice the flush wall between the doors. Nicely painted white. Also, notice the removal of the doughboy wallpaper border in above the cabinets.
All set to take out these cabinets. Next step...empty!
Seen here, the removed dishwasher, successfully, by me!
Jake and I taking out a cabinet.
Max's contributions to the cabinet removal.
Someone has to sweep.
No more backsplash.
Fixing a problem with the sub-floor. Well...vacuuming up after fixing.
Ahhh....the old cabinets.
The old tile backsplash.
Jenn's contribution, after lunch. Which she gracefully got from Dominoes for us all. The point here is that with all the noise going on from putting up new boards to hang the cabinets, she was able to sleep in the other room!
No more cabinets!
Cabinets delivered!
Our new corner base cabinet!
Back of one of the wall cabinets.
Front of the new cabinets!
Joe and Ben prepping to get the first corner cabinet in place.
Time to check for level!
Prepping the base corner cabinet. It needed to go around that pipe in the bottom right corner there.
Here's a shot of some of the wall cabinets in place!
Putting in the utility cabinet.
Huh? What!?
Our new cabinets!
See the island, not put together, and some color on the wall, not done.
Notice the lazy susan's in the two corner cabinets. There's one pulled out of the wall cabinet currently, I need to pull the second to mount the radio. The wires dangling down are for under the cabinet lights that will be on a switch!
Here you can see the newly installed island with bookcase endcap. The microwave mounted over the stove. You can also see one of the faux doors on the side of the bookcase. Oh and you can see the orange wall in the back!
Another shot of the new microwave, and the glass cabinets.
You can see the new countertop in place!
