Pretty 24th birthday dress

San Fransisco dinner with new friends. Ate delicious grilled peach salad and veggie pizza with spinach, goat cheese, and olives! With red wine, chocolate brownie and ice cream how could I complain!?

Ahmad and Jess' PARTY!!!!

Ahmad and I have such wonderful friends! Nour, Sari, Ali, Abu Harb, and Shareen threw us this beautiful party! We are so lucky! Thanks guys! FYI: The cake says, "Ahmad Constant love for Jessi" because Ahmad's last name is Thabet, which in English means constant... so he signed a letter to me once saying this, so it is a little play on words. Goodness, I am crazy about this guy!

The four days in Aden really made me excited to move back in a month! Mom and I shopped and wandered around the streets. We had to wear nakab (the black face veil) when we traveled from Aden to Bir Ali, so we took some funy pictures of the costume.

Paradise! Bir Ali beach is BEAUTIFUL!

I never would have guessed that Yemen had the most pristine beaches I have ever seen in my life... mornings full of dolphins and snorkeling, and at night the glow in the dark plankton sparkles like the stars above them.

One of the most important things for Yemeni women is the wedding scene. Since men are not allowed to enter these events, I have taken the liberty to buy a "traditional" 2008 Yemeni dress. These are pictures of me in a ridiculously gogeous Yemeni dress purely for spreading cultural awareness.... wow, I am totally bringing this back to the States for my friends' weddings!
