coming out of the trees we were rewarded with more great views.
Our first look at “The Three Apostles”.
My brother-in-law James makes his way up the slick trail.
We walked through saw spots on the trail with 6-8 inches of snow from a storm a few days ago.
Looking up the final ridge.
As we approached the summit the views just kept getting better.

The Three Apostles were stunning with the fresh snow on them.
Ice Mountain is the biggest of the Three Apostles and is just under14,000 ft.
The greenish colored alpine lake near the center of this photo is Ann Lake
We stayed on the summit for a half hour and took in the scenery.
Kelly peaks behind some rocks.
James and I on Mt. Huron's summit. 14,003 feet.
A closer look at Ann Lake resting below part of the Three Apostles.
Mt. La Plata seen from the top of mt. Huron.
James carefully starts his descent from the summit.
we saw a Marmot just 10 feet off the trail.
A small Alpine lake made for a great watering hole for Kelly dog.
James and Kelly head down the trail with Granite Mountain straight ahead.
A perfect day for a hike!
