Our illustrious leader "V" preparing us for what we will face on the trail. =)
Following tradition "V" outlines our route with his finger.
Our Crew =)
Tim, a Boston Red Sox fan and newly minted backpacker tries his hand at leading the group. Great job! =)
A beautiful flower. Not sure what it is. It grew where little else did.
Enjoying lunch at China Hole.
Magda was the first to wade through the water. It was COLD!
Justin and paramedic Dori taking some time to relax between by the river.
Cute couple and new backpackers Jessica and Tim. =)
Some very dainty white flowers.
We set down camp on a field of gold (flowers that is) at Hoover Lake.
The gold flowers up close. They were everywhere and so beautiful.
More flowers...
Contrail tracks and an abandoned air field
The sun descending below the mountain ridge
A field of flowers and "V" in red jacket relaxing on a rock enjoying the sunset.
A small pond and yellow flowering shrub in the foreground.
The airstrip
Me...
The sunset
Magdalena, Saurabh and Justin all taking amazing pictures of the sunset with their kick-A cameras.
Dusk arrives at the airstrip
A bugs eye view of these beautiful wildflowers and the blue sky in the background
Morning Bells wet from morning dew
A craggy outcrop in the distance caught my eye
"V" looks for a "shortcut" so we could do some offroad navigation. We decided against it after "V" said the trails were covered in poison oak.
A flowering shrub
Oh I totally love this picture. I loved how there are several blossoms that are fully open and others that are still blooming.
I wish the colors had come out better in this. My knee was killing me at this point so I couldn't bend down to steady the camera as well.
That's Dori and camping gear model, Magdalena in the shadows. I'm the big blob taking the picture on the right.
Wild lupine
A huge bough of mistletoe.
