All of us at the beginning of the hike. =)
Super cool vine. I love these kinds of plants and thought this one was particularly photo worthy. Heads-up, there will be a lot of flora and fauna pictures in this album. I couldn't resist. =)
Marshall at the beginning of the hike.
Heading into the woods.
Another Douglas Iris. These things were everywhere. They definitely added to the overall beauty of the trail.
I liked the yellow-green florets that grew out of the tips of these needley shrub/trees. Pretty... =)
A tree covered in poison oak vines.. Watch out Marshall! ;)
Coming up to a bridge that would lead us across the estuary and towards the beach.
It's me. What a beautiful day to be on the water.
Aw, Marshmellow.. =)
A water fowl (loon?).
Taking a quick break before heading up the hill across the way.
The estuary.
Pretty vines... this kind of reminds me of the design that I had thought about as a tattoo back in the day when I wanted one and Marshall was against it. I think we've kind of swapped opinions on that now. ;)
These flowers caught my eye as they added color to the barren stalks behind them.
Apparently these are oyster farms. At the end of the day we were able to see a bunch more of these as the tide had gone out which lowered the water level by about 2.5-3 feet.
The guy who found this snake actually stepped over it thinking it was a fake rubber snake. I was amazed by the colors and yeah, it was real as it adeptly slithered out of our way after I got this picture. =)
Ah, thank you Emre for the tip about the macro mode on my camera. I was able to get this and a number of other great flower photos using the techniques he mentioned on our last hike. =)
By the time we returned from our hike, the estuary that had originally been filled with water now appeared to be a maze of waterways. Pretty cool huh? =)
Heading back to the bridge.
A beautiful orange flower with clover in the background.
I couldn't decide which orientation I liked the best so I kept both.
Woah! Check out this huge mushroom. I'm guessing it was most definitely poisonous by it's ultra-vibrant red cap. But then again... just kidding, I'm sure it's poisonous. ;)
As I mentioned earlier, I love ferns, vines and the contrast of green against brown backgrounds. These ferns jumped out at me and I had to take a picture of them. Ah, me eyes love to gaze upon them.. Tasty. ;)
Some delicate pink flowers growing on a shrubby tree.
Marshall and Darrel. Best buds for life. =)
Marshall and Jenny, always and forever. =)
