The original club at First Baptist Church, Mbale.
The clubs meet each Saturday afternoon.
Children have the opportunity to learn about and experience God through a variety of activities.
A points system for participation, behaviour etc results in the opportunity for the children to "buy" clothes, shoes, books, pens, etc at the Bible Club Store which is held in each club every few months.
The store is a great motivator in the clubs, teaching them about choice and their ability to change their situation for themselves.
Many thanks to all those who have filled the suitcases of the international volunteers with your donations!! Everything gets a great new home!
In April 2007, JENGA arranged a gathering of the all of the Bible Clubs which it supports. Over 600 children joined together at New Generation Church in Namatala.
Moses, from the JENGA team, hosts the day. Thankfully he usually leaves the wig and red nose behind when he's working at the office!
Grace, one of the Bible Club teachers led the children in some songs.
Then it was the turn of the children to lead.
Each Bible Club had prepared some songs to present.
These are the younger children from Ebenezer Baptist Church Bible Club.
The older children from Ebenezer followed.
Next came the host church - New Generation.
The boys from Mustard Seed Church lead their Club to the stage.
Mustard Seed Church take their turn.
Mooni Church of Uganda Bible Club.
And finally First Baptist Church Club.
There was a quiz to check what they had been learning in their clubs!
And of course no party is complete without food and drink!
And there's always a gatecrasher!!
JENGA also hosts a party for the children each Christmas.
DJ's Dave and Rob are in da house!! Actually, they were messing about with the sound system to try to make Moses's voice sound weird!! Boys will play!!
Home time!!
