I love this woman! Juliana, a member of a Carib tribe on Dominica (the indigenous tribe of Dominica). She made all of those baskets...harvested the grass, dyed some of the strands in the mud to get the different colors, and then wove the baskets while the grass was still wet. One basket is 2 days worth of work. She's a very warm, sweet soul!
Very cool local bakery of the Carib tribe; unfortunately we got there just as they ran out of "Casava bread". I don't know what that is, but I bet it's awesome! Carib village; Dominica
