Long's Peak

I finally climbed Long's Peak after wanting to do it for 4 years! It was 16 miles R/T, 5200' gain, class 3 climbing, with thunder, snow and slippery rocks, but we did it!

Lost Creek Wilderness Backpacking

Helen and I took a 2-day trip to Lost Creek Wilderness, covering the Ben Tyler Trail, the Craig Park Trail, the Brookside McCurdy Trail, and the Colorado Trail. Wildflowers everywhere, and the views from the Ben Tyler Trail were astounding.

Weminuche Backpacking

Matt, Janie, Katie, Helen, and I took a 4-day backpacking trip in the Weminuche Wilderness over the 4th of July. There were lots of lush plants (aside from the pine trees killed by pine beetles), lots of roaring streams, 1 hot spring, and sweeping views from the Continental Divide. Pics courtesy of Matt.

Miami & Honduras

Visited Megan and Levi in Honduras. They're wrapping up 2 years in the Peace Corps. The trip was a combination of eye-opening poverty in the city of Choluteca with breaktaking beauty at the beaches and in the cloud forests. I had a 1-night layover in Miami on the way there.

Kurt & Rebecca's Wedding

Kurt and Rebecca got married at Kiva Koffeehouse to a sunrise in the great outdoors surrounded by the beautiful sandstone cliffs of Utah. The wedding "reception" involved a 3 mile hike to Calf Creek Falls. The day after, we explored some slot canyons at Davis Gulch.

A Tribute to Stormie

A tribute to my cat Stormie (1987-2004) who lived to be 17 years old. I got her when I was 12, and she was laid to rest just before my 29th birthday. May her spirit rest in peace.
