Fantasilandia

Fantasilandia is the amusement park of Santiago. Not anything like disneyland but along with Damian, my french roommate, Timo, a swedish guy, and, Mathias, a Norwegian guy, I had a great time. Though I lost my mobile in the water and had to buy a new one.

Paragliding Cajon del Maipo

Together with Carloina (my guide of Santiago) I went paragliding in Cajon del Maipo, on the outskirts of Santiago. It really was an amazing ride as we caught all the good thermo siglos (hot air rises from the earth and mountains to mix with the cold air) and rose to hights of 5-600 meters. At the end we spiralled down at speeds that almost reaches 1G.

We chekked in at around 10:00 am and participated in the usual briefing; Responsible drinking and no running.... as we heard this we looked down at our 5 bags of stocked up beers, rum and pisco ;o) There were alot of tourists and app. 250 passengers in total.

Puerto Varas

Puerto Varas is a cool and relaxed place. It can be compared to a relaxed town near the ski areas in Europe. Poeple do extreme sports and go skiing all year. Ofcourse these guys living here throws some amazing parties, the scenery is great and the seafood AMAZING! Here i met my travel companion Lindsey and we got into contact with a Chilean girl who worked as a chef on various yachts all over the world. She had the contacts and we went dining with her at the most amazing restaurant.

Frutillar

Frutillar is a small city North of Puerto Varas. It was founded by a german delegation that came to Chile as missionairies for the church. They started some of trade routes north of Puerto Varas.

Volcao Osorno

Volcano Osorno is one the most perfectly shaped volcanos in the world. It is still active but it has never erupted in a way that would blow off the top. Hence the perfect shape of a cone. The scenery was amazing!
