This is the side view of my apartment in Munich, in April. Our windows are those on the 2nd floor
This is the same view except in August.
I am standing in the same place here as in the last photo, but I rotated 90 degrees to my left. That's the bike shed on the left, and you can sort of see our apartment window up on the right
the path leading up to our apartment complex's door
We walk under that arch to where I am standing to get to our complex
We are on the second floor. You can see the awnings that cover the window. We operate them with a pushbutton inside. They can be put up or down or anywhere in between. Sort of like curtains on the outside.
There's the entry to our part of the complex. Above the brown door is the window of our little bathroom, then the kitchen in the middle, and our bedroom to the right.
This is the door into our apartment
The family room in the apartment, when Rob first moved in
The family room now. The door on the right leads out to the balcony. The balcony is just big enough to store our bikes when we'll be gone for awhile.
Our family room now. As soon as our things arrived, Rob threw my quilt over the back of the couch. Also, he bought a sort of recliner.
You might think those are just plastic boxes. But, actually, that is my adjustable coffee table.
The view of the dining area when Rob arrived
The dining area now
The guest room when Rob arrived
The guest room now, with laundry drying in action!
More laundry action
My sewing room here. Yes, you just saw this picture when I identified our dining area.
now the master bathroom, at least, the toilet part. To either side of the toilet is a sink, and on the wall above the toilet is the flusher. The wall behind all three water using appliances is about 12" into the room, so I wonder if there are pipes and the water tank for the toilet back in there.
This is the little sink in the little bathroom. And my hand really isn't very big.
And this is the bed when Rob moved in
And when I got here
And the wall just to the side of my bed.
The bedroom window. Ugly curtains. I might be buying lots of cheap curtains/curtain fabric on my next trip home.
Our front door in Portland
And the wonderful entry here
my kitchen here
the rest of my kitchen here. The area for standing in measures 46" by 60". Not really room for more than one person at a time, especially if any doors or drawers or the dishwasher is open.
the place where we park here. Notice the double-deck parking
my "car" here. It's the blue one, that's taller than the rest and has a basket on front. It's not really all that tall, but I parked it in the higher up bike rack spot. That's so they can fit more bikes in. You are a lucky person if you get a real spot on the rack. There must be about 40 bikes down there at any moment.
Our very interesting windows. Same window, just choose how you want it to open. Tilt open at the top or
swing open along the side. An engineering wonder.
