Anyone can need a bail agent any time, according to the stories you can pick up from the bail agents on Bryant Street in San Francisco, a hand full of offices in front of the palace of justice. Most are here since many decades, some of them are run by 3 generations. They always estimate whether they can trust a client before bailing out, but at the same time they never judge anyone, and there’s something very humanly beautiful about that. When they light up in the night, they turn the place into a fifties movie scene. That’s why it felt really appropriate to make this series in silver print.
