Iftar meal to honour Eid al Fitr, Rosh HaShanah, and the Feast of the Cross
A little early (since some people are going away for the holidays), we marked Eid al Fitr, which comes at the end of Ramadan and Rosh HaShanah (Jewish New Year), with a pot-luck community meal at the Pluralistic Spiritual Centre. The third holiday we mentioned was the Feast of the Cross (September 14), which is a popular holiday in Palestinian culture. Besides the meal, we were entertained by musicians, and their were dance and play activities for young people adults, organized by the youth centre, parents and community members. The evening came to a close with singing.
