Each year, since 1994, the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission has honored those making a significant, lasting, and heroic impact on the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people worldwide. This year we honored two extraordinary women, Judge Karen Atala, whose historic win at the Inter-American Court was the result of her relentless battle for justice, and Representative Tammy Baldwin, whose leadership on LGBT rights in Congress has had a lasting impact.
