ELUZ Benefit Dinner
Hogar Estudiantes de la Luz (ELUZ) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) composed of children from substandard neighborhoods whose families are displaced from the four-decade-long civil war. They live in extreme poverty, have problems with malnutrition, suffer from child abuse, and have substandard, if any schooling, among other things.
This benefit dinner included soup, salad, "arroz con pollo" (rice with chicken), "platanos" (similar to a banana), veggies, and dessert. The atmosphere reflected a traditional Colombian dinner party. All donations and monies raised go directly to Colombia to help children with school tuition and supplies, operational and transportation expenses.
