Los Angeles & Santa Monica, CA

i hate city with bad public transport (becasue i cannot and dont plan to drive). everything is sooooo big but tasteless. anyway best thing i have in LA are: seeing and touching walt disney concert hall, mika concert (and the after party), wandered into the park of 500 Days of Summer, CA and spicy tuna rolls, seeing lots of pumpkins, and amoeba music. did i not mention hollywood......?

Las Vegas, NV & Grand Canyon, AZ

you have heard and seen so much about las vegas, it becomes eveything you expect it to be and nothing more. in fact it is less indulging than i thought, but i guess that is my problem not hers. but the grand canyon.... grand canyon! and the joshua trees! i must come here again, go to the other parts and spend more time some days. probably with my parents, las vegas sounds like the kind of place they may like :P

i am surprised that i dont have much to say abt SF though i have spend over a week there. the best thing is probably getting to the city lights books. the kind of place that you fantasized when you are young and led you to other things, and then totally forgot about it. i didnt even rememeber it is in SF - so when i was wandering on the street and saw it, the feeling was so... mixed :P as for everything else... it doesnt say much to me so i dont have much to say abt them either.

this is solely for seeing a fine frenzy, which totally worth it. (two live clips at youtube.com/jamspotting) another great discovery from the show is singer-songwriter landon pigg. and bonus to find it is quite a nice and walkable city - the market is touristy, but at least there are interesting to see - and eat. (though i confess spending the last two hours in a video game centre instead of checking out the waterfront) and dont even bother to go to that space needle and take that monorail. such a rip off.

Vancouver, Canada

like what i wanted: lots of falling (and fallen) leaves - yellow, golden, red, purple, brown... beautiful. and lots of lake and forest and river and mountain and rain and cold and a bit of snow too. exactly what i want from vancouver! (and a bonus minor car accident on a snow mountain) plus endless great chinese food, seafood, and Church's fried chicken is divine!!!!! :) very rare for me to be this laid back - sun goes down at 5, finish dinner at 730, watching tvb soap opera, playing wii with my cousin and then do some reading and sleep. i dont think i can live my life like that now (or can i?!) but there is no harm to live like that right? :P (and for the record, i hate the canadian customs)

UK - London, Brighton, Liverpool Summer 09

UK - London, Brighton, Liverpool, June/July 09. Brighton is nice with the good food and weather, possible to be back for the electro festvial in summer. A manchester guy told me it is bullshit that Liverpool is labled as the cultural city of Europe, see it to believe it. London fails to excite me anymore (wouldnt stay at all if not for Blur. they are brilliant btw.), but it is still Lodnon, afterall. Some of the pictures in this album are by Master Yee.

Portugal - Liaboa and Porto. Originally a "Looking for Mourinho" and "Tracing Wim Wenders' Lisbon Story", this trip (in fact, it is the whole europe trip) turns out to be a Shopaholic Tale. Fine weather, nice food, steep, narrow and colourful streets and good looking people though.

London, Cardiff & Dublin Dec 08

My winter capitals hopping: London, Cardiff and Dublin. What a silly whim decision. Freezing every day and night and NOT seeing the sun for 10 days. But I had fun - lots of nice food and Guinness, been into the woods and docks, see some friends and bands, catch the last tip of the NYE firework AND away from HK so that I didnt need to use my head. The down side is probably not seeing SCM in London, JDB in Cardiff and Liam Cunningham in Dublin HAHAHA!!! A lot of these crappy pictures need captions to explain what is happening, but I am just too lazy to do so. I doubt if anyone will read even if I do anyway. But I may update something later on the travel xanga lor... :)

Yunnan

A trip to Yunnan - Lijiang and Shangri La. Lots of Banyan Trees, amazing scenery, lovely faces, nice food, unnecessary luxuary, loads of pictures, painful lots of society & reality, lack of sleep, pisses and holding back of pisses, and second-hand smoke. Bahrain 1/08

Coz I was going w/ a great photographer so I didnt take many of my own pictures. And it ended up my favourite picture (I took it with his camera) is lost. In fact, all my of favourite pictures are lost coz the memory card is deleted without back-up. So all I have now is these crappy picture haha. Anway I am waiting for more pictures from him and will upload when I get them. And middle east.... what an interesting place :)

Glasgow - the only place with super shitty weather that i still like and would love to come back thinking it is a place suitable for living human being to settle in. but then someone told me the weather is like THAT all year round. probably not then. :P Highlight: walking in heavy rain, discovering Ness and Sondre Lerche.

These are taken in Amsterdam and Antwerp. I like Ams as always and finally tried that raw fish - whish is vvvvvvvvvery tasty haha. The big smoke is caused by a huge fire in downtown Antwerp. Has also stopped by Rotterdam and Brussels but there were nothing there :P

the only reason to visit this fashion city is... fashion. see if these Milanos really dress to kill, and pay a pilgrim to these luxurious shopping streets (i have been to V&W upside down shop! yeah!). for the first casue yes, even the butchers in the market dress in D&G and for the latter... i felt shitty dressing like a begger and sweating under the burning sun haha :P

I like Ljubljana - i can list out reasons like nice food, friendly people or beautiful houses - but i know these are not the reasons. i just like it :) but Budapest is where i will remember in the rest of my life coz of some reasons i wont tell you here. but i can tell you this - there was a heatwave while i was there - 42 degrees! we dont wanna go out at dat time and we couldnt sleep at night, so we went out at midnight and came back in dawn :P

Exchange in London in 2005 for a semster - and had some of the best times in my life so far. First time to leave home that long, to take care of myself, see new things and new people..... I love London, coz I had memories there. Then went on to travel in Europe a bit. The best of my time. :)
