Mt Rosa as seen from Frosty's Park
Lenticular cloud forming near the trailhead at Frosty's Park
Jim, Amber, and Josh heading up a damp trail 672
Almost to the top and still smiling
Amber and Josh log their first 11er
Our summit photo
Pikes Peak peering behind the broad summit of Almagre Mountain
If you look closely on the left side of Pikes you can see the cleared track of the Cog Railway through the remaining snow
Views from the summit south over Rosemount Reservoir
Looking back east toward Cheyenne Mountain and Colorado Springs
Pikes again
Deep in the heart of Cheyenne Mountain is NORAD
The summit was loaded with ladybugs
We learned on the news later that day that ladybugs are a natural pesticide
Heading back to the parking lot, across many tree limbs layed across the wide trail to discourage dirtbikes and ATVs
Back at the trailhead, Josh and Amber admire their first 11er
Hard to imagine but this creek crossing on FS 379 was a good 4-wheeling challenge when I was up here this past January
Here is the same crossing in January
Our next challenge for the day, St. Peter's Dome
Josh on the summit, with Mt Rosa in the background
Our summit photo with the 5th class summit of Mt. Vigil to the right of Josh's elbow
The blocky sub-summit of St. Peter's Dome, for next time
More ladybugs on the summit of St. Peter's Dome, but many more were airborne
Another look at Cheyenne Mountain (right) and The Horns (left)
Looking back to Old Stage Road and the parking area
